Thassos is the northernmost island of the Aegean Sea and is 6 nautical miles from the opposite mainland of Keramoti.

Thassos is connected to northern Greece with regular routes from the port of Keramoti (near Kavala) and from the port of Kavala. The ferry connections to the island are as follows:
Keramoti - Limenas Thassos:
    The ferry connection is operated several times a day
    in summer and the crossing takes around 40 minutes.
Kavala - Skala Prinos Thassos :
    The route is operated 3 times a day during the summer months. .

You can arrive in Kavala either by plane to the airport of Kavala "Alexander the Great", which is located 15 minutes from Keramoti and from the airport you can reach Keramoti either by taxi or by the buses of the Kavala bus service (KTEL) that serve the airport and the ports.

An alternative is the Macedonia airport of Thessaloniki from which you can go to Kavala or Keramoti either by car (2 and 2.5 hours respectively) or by bus of the KTEL.

You can also reach Kavala/Keramoti by road with your own vehicle or by bus of the Kavala KTEL (from Athens, Thessaloniki Kavala).
